Our Tours

Flavors of Paris tours are a guided experience, in English, ranging from exquisite cheeses and charcuterie to heavenly chocolate.

We’ll introduce you to a representative sampling of food shops in the charming quarter of St-Germain-des-Prés, with all the tastings included.

The Original Tour

The meeting point for your tour is in front of the historic Saint-Germain Church, right beside the Saint-Germain Metro stop.

From there we stroll around the neighborhood and visit local shops, sampling the finest in French fare, from the simplest crisp-crusted baguettes and velvety chocolates to exquisite olive oils, superb seasonal fruit to (of course!) memorable variations on the age-old theme of great wine and fabulous cheeses.

Our tours vary daily; at each boutique stop, we’ll fascinate and delight you with what you’re tasting, even as we share wonderful stories about the local cuisine and lively historical anecdotes about the quarter’s restaurants and cafés. (When you’re done, consider yourself an honorary native of Saint-Germain… you might know more than the natives.)

Here’s our dream list (and, we hope, yours, too)

  • Un Dimanche à Paris
  • Gérard Mulot Paris
  • Première Pression Provence
  • Olivier & Co
  • Huilerie LeBlanc et fils
  • La Maison Giraudet

Our natural affection for the foods of Paris really peaks when we think of escorting you to the delicious, hidden treasures of St Germain. With us as your guide, you’ll discover elegant pastries, silky, full-bodied chocolates and even the delights of a tiny, quaint “viennoiserie,” home to amazing Alsatian strudel—and that’s just the beginning. We’ll guide you to a splendid crêperie whose house delicacy features a crêpe with home-made salted caramel sauce and a glass of cider. And there’s more … tempted? Succumb—and join us: we can’t resist either!

Monday Mot

Every other Monday I'll post a food-related French phrase, word, expression or slang that I've encountered on my adventures here in Paris.

Monday Mot for June 4, 2012

    Les Plats

If your French isn't that good, beware the French menu! We are so used to calling the main course the Entrée in English, that we are certain its the same the world over. Think again. In France, L'entrée is the first course (what we call the appetizer).
