Start the Day off Right

The perfect Parisian spring morning starts with an amazing brunch. We love several spots, but one that is sure not to disappoint is Kafkaf, which serves brunch all day and has lots of vegan options as well. If you are looking for a cozy spot, check out Echo, located in the “La Bourse” neighbourhood, or the second district, with different breakfast options like mochi-style pancakes or “The Larry David” breakfast, two fried eggs, bacon, avocado with toast crispy potatoes with special middle herbs.

Another seasonal delight would be brunch at Treize au Jardin. Their buttermilk biscuits are divine and best enjoyed in the sweet springtime air on their terrace overlooking Luxembourg Garden.

Petals and Palettes

To truly soak up the essence of spring near Paris, a visit to the Giverny Gardens is highly recommended. Situated just an hour from the city, Giverny transports visitors to a world of floral beauty, where Monet's former home and iconic lily pond await. This picturesque setting offers a unique and enriching day trip from the city.

Chasing Cherry Blossoms

If you're looking for something super seasonal, head to Parc de Sceaux (just outside Paris) to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The parc, part of the Sceaux Estate and Chateau, is known for its Japanese cherry blossom trees, which are usually in peak bloom during the first three weeks of April. Don’t miss this stunning and awe-inducing seasonal delight. The estate is just a 35-45 minute train ride outside of Paris’s city center, making it the perfect afternoon outing. Or, if you want to stay more central, Square Jean XXIII, right behind Notre Dame, is another great spot for beautiful flowering trees.

A Classic Parisian Pastime

Another classic Parisian springtime activity is pétanque. It's kind of like bocce, and you'll see people playing it in parks all around the city. Some popular spots include the gardens of Palais Royal, Luxembourg Gardens, and the Tuileries Gardens.

The Arènes de Lutèce, is one of the best settings for this activity. Also, a historic Roman amphitheater, it’s sand floor is a perfect setting to join in on a game or take a seat on the stone steps and enjoy watching as a spectator.

Painted Walls, Secret Gardens

For a different kind of afternoon, venture into Belleville. It's a diverse and artistic neighborhood with hidden community gardens and amazing panoramic city views from Parc de Belleville. It's a bit off the beaten path but totally worth it for an authentic Parisian experience. Also in the Bellville area is Rue Dénoye, a street lined with art, covering all the buildings from top to bottom, and the perfect place to take in some of the open-air art that Paris has to offer.
